THE ISLAND is a fantasy for young readers, but older readers who enjoy stories with fantastical creatures like those found in THE HOBBIT and HARRY POTTER, will enjoy this quick read. Sky is a naughty and curious imp who gets into more trouble than she bargains for when she sneaks onto the palace grounds of her floating island, where the ruling lords and ladies live. She wonders what goes on in the palace and why they are so secretive. She soon finds out some reasons, but faces dire consequences for intruding and trying to find out answers to hidden secrets the lords and ladies want no one to know.
